Giving Back SignThank you to Mount Washington neighbor Maria Leasca for providing information on this giving opportunity for this holiday season:

Giving Back is a not-for-profit organization that helps the homeless community Baltimore City. Their biggest project of the year is a holiday backpack program. Annually, they fill more than a thousand backpacks with warm winter clothing and distribute the backpacks and food to homeless people on the streets of Baltimore on Christmas Eve. For many of these people, this is the only warm clothing they have for the whole year.  My daughter, Angela, is collecting warm clothing to fill backpacks and is would love to have participation from the neighborhood.  She is collecting gently used winter clothing, such as jackets, sweaters, sweatshirts, long underwear, hats, gloves, scarves, socks, blankets, etc.  If you have any items you would like to donate please let us know and we can pick them up.

For more information, feel free to email us or visit the website.
Thank you for your support and Happy Holidays!

The Giving Back website also provides information on how you can volunteer directly and help with the collection and handing out of the backpacks, if you are interested in doing more.   Thank you to Maria and Angela for helping to coordinate this giving within our neighborhood.
