The Falls – Full Hours

Submitted by on December 15, 2009 – 1:52 pm2 Comments

The FallsI just got back from having lunch at The Falls and while I was there I spoke to the co-owners.  They let me know that they are now operating full hours – until 9 pm nightly.  The bar is also open and they will stay open later if folks are there enjoying.

I went for lunch to The Falls today, the 2nd of January. While looking forward to another restaurant in the village, I found the staff pleasant, but not very attentive and the food was disappointing.

The pannini was not well toasted, the Italian coldcut was served about 20 minutes after the pannini and only after requesting the food. The bread on both sandwiches was not particularly good.

I know the restaurant is new and perhaps will improve with time, but the first impression did not leave me with a desire to return. I am sorry to have such a negative reaction to a business in the neighborhood.

Please let me know if things change.

We had a glass of wine, coffee, and dessert at the Falls tonight. They are still “breaking things in” and so things are not really good yet – the dessert selection is meager (a bunch of breakfast pastries). It doesn’t include the pies they are planning on adding and the mini-bundt cake we had was stale. But my latte was excellent and my wife enjoyed her glass of wine. The atmosphere is a nice blend, and I’m looking forward to breakfast someday soon. As it is, there are relatively few choices like the Falls in this area, and it has potential. The articles I have read about the owners suggest to me that it will fulfill much of its potential. Here’s hoping!
