Trash Collection and Recycling Collection Changes

Submitted by on December 22, 2009 – 6:09 pmNo Comment

Baltimore City has not yet been able to clear all alleys of snow and ice.  Therefore, until further notice, the Department of Public Works asks that we place our trash and recycling in front of our houses and not in the alleys.  Department Director, David E. Scott explains:

“Due to the heavy snowfall over the weekend, alleys with snow and ice present unsafe conditions for our drivers. Until we can safely resume rear collections, we are asking citizens to place their trash and recycling out in front so our crews can pick them up. We appreciate their cooperation during these unique circumstances.”

On a related topic, our recycling day falls on Christmas Day this year.  The make-up collection day will be the following day (Saturday, December 26th).
