Black Cherry Puppet Theater – This week!

Submitted by on December 27, 2009 – 8:55 pmNo Comment

I just found out about these puppet shows this week.  Mount Washington raised Justin Durel’s adaptation of Jack and the Beanstalk will be on Wednesday December 30th at 1 pm.  There is also The Frog Prince tomorrow.  Sounds like another fun option for kids home on break this week!  They are presented by the Black Cherry Puppet Theater.

AFTERNOON CHILDREN’S
PUPPET SHOWS

At the extremely reasonable cost of $5 per ticket!

That’s right! Black Cherry will perform its marionette classic The Frog Prince on Monday, December 28th! And on Wednesday the 30th, Black Cherry will present its newest work, the hand-puppet Jack and the Beanstalk.

For both engagements, doors open at 12:30 p.m., and the show begins at 1:00 p.m. Seating is general admission.  There’ll be bags of popcorn for a quarter—no, your eyes do not deceive you, just 25¢ each—hot mulled cider, and other goodies for sale too! And it’s just $5 per ticket! (Of course, if you want to pay more, feel free to do so.)

The performances will take place at Black Cherry Puppet Theater, located in Sowebo at 1115 Hollins St., 21223, across from the Hollins Street Market.

Black Cherry Puppet Theater is a non-profit association of artists and performers that have presented over 1,500 performances and workshops for adults and children throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
