Thank you to Lisa Kelemen and Randy Beckford for providing this information:

There is positive change growing at Mt. Washington Elementary in 2010!

Whole Foods Market is enthusiastic to partner with Mt. Washington Elementary in their efforts to build and maintain a vegetable garden on the school property!

This garden will provide a “hands on” opportunity for the children to learn about health and nutrition – and bring us one step closer to our ultimate goal: raising the next generation of environmentally aware human beings!

On January 12, 2009, Whole Foods Market will be generously donating 5% of their net proceeds to Mt. Washington Elementary to support them in this exciting endeavor. Fun family events throughout the day will include: story times (11am, 4pm), free hot cocoa and door prizes throughout the day, local “celebrity” baggers (11:30am, 5pm), and the cool rhythms of “Jazz Jones” (6pm).

Please consider shopping at Whole Foods Market on this day and lend your support towards healthy change in our community!

Look for a separate post in the upcoming week on some of the exciting things happening at Mt. Washington Elementary school!
