Make Plans with Samson This Weekend

The Maryland Zoo opened last weekend and due to the miserable weather received a dismal 38 visitors on opening day. This weekend is shaping up to be just the opposite, however, when the Zoo is inviting everyone to attend Samson the elephant’s 2nd birthday party.
Party attendees will be treated to face painting by the elephant habitat and will have an opportunity to sign Samson’s birthday card. To kick off the festivities, Charm City Cakes will be presenting Samson with what is sure to be a unique treat (for his guests).
The festivities begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 20th, but you should get there earlier if you want to catch a glimpse of the cake before it is sliced up and served to the crowd.
The Zoo is just a few minutes from Mt. Washington and is a rare resource that is both fun and educational. It has been struggling in recent years, but its financial situation has become more dire due to the recent winter storm damage. Show your support and buy a membership — it’s one of the best deals in town.
