Taking Mom Out for Brunch? Here are some ideas.
If you don’t yet have plans with Mom, some local restaurants are hosting Mother’s Day brunches with special menus.
Village Square Cafe, located in Cross Keys and owned by a Mt. Washington family, will be offering a selection of specials next Sunday that Mom can enjoy with a complementary mimosa. The specials include crab cakes, quiches, and buttermilk waffles topped with fresh strawberries, bananas, and Grand Marnier whipped cream. They recommend that you make a reservation, which can be accomplished by calling 410-433-2233.
Crepe du Jour has a special brunch menu planned for those in the mood for savory and/or sweet crepes, including a special lobster crepe (lobster tail, shrimp, tomato, leek, asparagus, white wine sauce & hollandaise sauce) and Crepe Suzette (sugar, butter, orange sauce drizzled with grand Marnier, orange liquor). Again, reservations are recommended. 410-542-9000.
Ethel and Ramone’s recommends that you join them with your mother at the Baltimore Farmer’s Market under the JFX, where they will be in their usual spot serving up their unique Cajun-Chesapeake cuisine.
The Falls will be open bright and early at 6:30 a.m. if you want to stop in with Mom for a bagel or Belgian waffle before heading off for the remainder of your day. 410-367-7840.
