Spring and Wood Element Celebration – May 19th

Submitted by Sarah Keogh on May 6, 2010 – 8:27 pmNo Comment

Jennifer Downs sent me information about a celebration of spring and wood that will be taking place on May 19th from 7 to 8:30 pm.  The event takes place in Mount Washington and includes local author Jill Jonnes (most recent book is Eiffel’s Tower: And the World’s Fair Where Buffalo Bill Beguiled Paris, the Artists Quarreled, and Thomas Edison Became a Count) and local arborist Ken Race.  The celebration sounds like it will include information about both chinese medicine and urban forestry.  What a combination!  If you are interested in learning more, please visit the Pivot Point website.  The event is free, but rsvps are requested.  Additional details below:

Spring and Wood Element Celebration:
WED EVENING
MAY 19 7-8:30 pm
All are welcome
Please rsvp
no charge

Come get in the spirit of spring. Hear what is most important about the season and the wood element from Chinese medicine.  AND we will also hear from two people who know trees and the wood element very well:  Jill Jonnes; local author who is now working on a book on Urban Forestry.  Some of the most beautiful and impressive trees in the US are in large cities.  We need to know more about these kind friends.
Ken Race, a local arborist will be part of the conversation as well.

Location: 2501 Manhattan Ave. 21215
