Clayworks Hammered Chicken Contest Prototypes Revealed

I don’t know about you, but when I first heard about Baltimore Clayworks’ Hammered Chicken Contest, I was amused/intrigued/hungry.

If you missed the original story, on June 4th, Clayworks will be holding a block party featuring a number of events including a contest in which participants start with a whole raw chicken, add custom seasonings, wrap it in foil, and encase it in clay formed into a chicken-shape. They then decorate the clay and cook/fire the whole thing. Contestants are then judged on the design of their clay chickens. The clay chickens are then smashed to reveal the yummy real chicken innards and the contestants are judged again on the taste of the bird.

When I read the original story, I could not help but want a visual. Fortunately, fresh out of their photo-shoot, the prototypes for the event have been revealed in all their galline glory. Here’s a peek at what you can look forward to on June 4th:
