Even more fun planned for July 3rd and a way to do good! Family Softball Game and Food Drive

Submitted by on July 1, 2010 – 7:23 pmNo Comment

So, one last reminder that the great neighborhood parade and celebration is going to be on July 3rd this year!!  If you have had to miss this event in the past because of other plans on July 4th, this is your year to find out what it is all about.  If all of the activities, food, magic and bouncing were not enough, I have also just gotten word that even more fun is planned for following the parade.  Starting at 12:30 on Saturday, July 3rd, following the post-parade fun at Springwell, there will be a family softball game.  The game will be played on the back Northwest Park “UB” fields along Enslow Road.  The event organizers ask anyone who wants to play to please bring a glove.  Other equipment will be provided.  For more information, please contact Guy D’Andrea.   After you get hot playing ball, another reminder that the community is invited to the pool from noon to 4 pm for a swim on that day.

I will try to do another post about this in the upcoming days to give it more attention, but I also want to mention an opportunity to do good while at the parade.  Springwell is going to be collecting items for the Maryland Food Drive starting on July 4th.  They will also take donations from the community on July 3rd if you would like to donate when you come for the post-parade fun.  See the flyer below for what they are collecting each week.  The drive continues throughout July, so please donation as often as you are able.  While we are out enjoying what will be a day of fun, let’s take the opportunity to be grateful that we are able to live in such a wonderful neighborhood and help make sure that the rest of our larger community is taken care of as well.
