Mount Washington Tree Lighting and Holiday Magic – Saturday November 20th

Submitted by on November 15, 2010 – 10:01 pmOne Comment

This Saturday, November 20th, from 4 until 8 pm, Mount Washington will be full of festive holiday magic and events!  The annual tree lighting will take place on the Johns Hopkins Mount Washington Campus with a reception starting at 6 pm.  The gathering place, as in past years, will be at the Octagon to start off with cider, cookies, and holiday songs.  Then everyone will move outside for the actual tree lighting at 6:30 pm.

This year, St. Nick will arrive by fire truck BEFORE the tree lighting.  He will then move through the village shops and restaurants, ending at St. John’s church.  At St. John’s, there will be an opportunity to have your picture taken with St. Nick.  If you go to St. John’s before the tree lighting, you can see a magic show or do some shopping at the Holly Daze Fest.

Before and after the tree lighting, you can enjoy holiday sales and treats at many of the shops and merchants in the Village, participate in kid’s activities at St. John’s, or grab something to eat at either of of the local restaurants or at the food table at St. John’s.  For more details on the times of all of the activities, see the flyer below. The complete Holiday Magic Event booklet is available here.

UPDATE: There will now also be a local artist doing hand-cut silhouette portraits at St. John’s.
