Upcoming Baltimore Clayworks “Tea-vents”

Submitted by on January 14, 2011 – 2:58 pmNo Comment

Starting January 15, visitors to Baltimore Clayworks will be treated to an exhibition entitled “100 Teapots V”. This free show, juried by Nick Joerling, features a wide variety of functional (and not so functional) teapots.

The exhibit will be open to the public between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. from January 15th through February 27th.

In keeping with the theme, on Sunday, January 30th, Clayworks is hosting a “Mad Hatter’s Tea Party”! From the invitation:

Join us in celebrating the New Year and Baltimore Clayworks’ 30th anniversary by putting on your funky or fashionable hat and coming to this year’s Mad Hatter Tea Party. This unique fundraiser always sells out and brings in young and old to celebrate the tradition of afternoon tea surrounded by 100 teapots. Clayworks invites you to put on your chapeau, whether it’s an ascot, fedora or zucchetto and join us for some steaming hot tea and tasty bites while enjoying good conversation and the exhibition 100 Teapots V.

The tea party is $25 for Clayworks members and $30 for non-members. We have been informed that tickets (especially for parties of four or more) go quickly, so make your reservations early if you plan to attend.
